What it does
What is actually in the export?
Your customers, quotes, jobs, invoices, payments and the activity history behind them, in a structured file you can open or hand to somebody else. Not a screenshot and not a PDF of a page — the records, in a form another system could read.
Who can download it, and do they need permission?
The business owner, at any time, with nobody to ask. Office staff and engineers cannot: it is the whole business's data in one file, and that is an owner's decision rather than something anybody with a login can take home.
How long does it take?
It is a download rather than a request. There is no queue, no support ticket and no waiting period, which is the point — a right you have to ask for and then wait a fortnight on is not much of a right.
Does it say what is not in it?
Yes, and that is deliberate. A file described as "everything" that quietly leaves out your photographs or your documents is worse than one that lists what it holds — so the page is explicit about what the file contains and what you would need to collect separately.
Is there anything else for an accountant specifically?
Yes, a separate year-end records pack that gathers what an accountant usually asks for, rather than handing them the raw export and letting them dig. They can also be given their own sign-in that sees the money and nothing else.
What it does not do
Worth knowing before you spend an afternoon on it rather than after.
It is not a backup you can restore from. You can take your data out; you cannot push a file back in and rebuild the account from it.
Photographs, videos and uploaded documents are not bundled into the single file — they are large and they live where they can be downloaded individually.
There is no scheduled or automatic export to your own storage. It is a download you take when you want it.

Take a copy of everything
Download your customers, quotes, jobs, invoices and payments as spreadsheets — for your accountant, for your own records, or to take with you.
The year-end records your accountant asks for
One file with the records behind your figures — and an honest list of what is not in it.
Give your accountant a sign-in
Your accountant can sign in and see the money without seeing your customers, your diary or your job photos. Access runs for twelve months and then stops on its own.
Check what happened, and when
A record of everything the app and your team did, in order.
Questions, answered
Can I get all my data out of TaskMyJob?
Yes. The business owner can download customers, quotes, jobs, invoices, payments and the activity history at any time, with nobody to ask and no waiting period.
Can my staff download the whole business's data?
No. The export is the owner's, because it is the whole business in one file.
Are photos and documents in the export file?
No. They are large and are downloaded individually, and the page says so rather than describing the file as everything.
