Switching
A Powered Now alternative for UK trades
We do not list Powered Now's features here, and that is deliberate. We do not use it, it changes, and you already know it better than we do. So this page is about what we do — including the things we do not — and you can judge it against whatever you are using now.
What people tell us they came looking for
“I want quoting and invoicing, but I also want the diary to be real”
“I need certificates signed on site and kept with the job”
“I want my customer to accept a quote and pay a deposit without ringing me”
“I want to know which jobs actually made money”
See it being done, rather than described
These are the real guides, with the real screens. No sign-up needed to read them.
Changing over
What comes across, what does not, and how to change over without losing a week is written out in full on the switching page.
Questions, answered
Can I bring my customers across from Powered Now?
Yes — a CSV of customers imports, and contacts come straight off a phone as a vCard. Your price list imports too, and it asks whether the figures in your file include VAT before it touches them, because getting that wrong overcharges on every quote from then on.
Can I bring my old jobs, quotes and invoices across?
No, and nobody honestly can. History stays where it is — keep your old account read-only for as long as you need it, or export it. What comes across is the things you work from every day: customers, contacts and prices.
How long does changing over take?
An afternoon for the setup, and most businesses run both for a fortnight: new work in the new system, anything already in flight finished where it started. There is a checklist on the dashboard that says what is left.
What does it cost?
£29.99 a month for the whole business — every feature, every engineer, no add-ons and no per-user pricing. 60 days free and no card to start, so you can put real work through it before deciding.
Will my team use it?
They get their own day on their phone: start and finish, photos and voice notes against the job, extra work priced on site and sent for approval, parts flagged when something is missing, and a completion sheet at the end. If they will not use it on a phone in a van, none of the rest matters.
What does TaskMyJob not do?
No bank feed and no reconciliation. Nothing is filed with HMRC. Applications for payment and valuations are not a document type of their own — a staged invoice is the nearest thing. Stock control is not in it. If one of those is what you need, this is not the thing to move to.
