The question box in the corner of every page. It looks things up for you — in the guides, and in your own records.

What is said in this recording
Task Taylor is the blue button in the bottom corner of every page, on your phone and on a computer. Ask it how something works and it finds the guide; ask it about your own business and it looks the answer up. It reads only — it cannot raise, send or cancel anything, and it will say so if you ask it to.
Step by step
- 1
Tap Task Taylor in the bottom corner.
It is on every page once you are signed in. On a phone it opens full screen; on a computer it opens as a panel in the corner. It is on the public website too — on the home page, the guides and the free calculators — where it answers out of the guides only and can see no account at all.
- 2
Ask how something works.
“How do I raise an invoice”, “where do I add a customer”. It shows the guides that cover it, closest first.
- 3
Or ask about your own business.
“What am I owed”, “what’s on tomorrow”, “which jobs need booking”, “what’s waiting on parts”. It reads the answer out of your own records and names the customers and the amounts.
- 4
Follow the link it gives you.
Every answer ends somewhere you can actually do something about it.
Worth knowing
It cannot change anything, and that is deliberate
Taylor reads. It cannot raise an invoice, send a quote, book a job or cancel anything, and if you ask it to it will say so and show you how to do it yourself. Somebody who believes an assistant has cancelled their invoice is worse off than somebody who was told to go and do it.
It only sees what your account sees
The same rules that decide which pages you can open decide what Taylor will tell you. Somebody without access to invoices gets “that isn’t something your account can see” rather than a figure — and their own work is still their own, whatever else they cannot see. The business owner decides who gets what, in Settings → Team.
It says when it does not know
Ask it something it has no answer for and it says so plainly, with the closest guides underneath. That is on purpose: an assistant that always produces an answer produces a wrong one whenever it has not understood, and a confident wrong instruction costs more time than no answer at all.
Nothing you ask it is stored or sent anywhere
Taylor runs entirely on TaskMyJob’s own servers. Your questions are not kept, not logged against your account, and never sent to another company — there is no outside service involved, which is also why it costs nothing to use.
It matches questions; it does not chat
Taylor is not the kind of assistant you can hold a conversation with. It recognises what you are asking and finds the answer. Short, direct questions work best — “what am I owed” rather than a paragraph.
