Setting one person's hours, their base, and a week of leave.
What is said in this recording

Scheduling is what the booking calendar works from. If a customer is picking their own slot, these hours decide what they are shown — so it is worth getting right before you let anybody self-book.

Step by step

  1. 1

    Go to Settings, then Scheduling.

  2. 2

Set each person's working days and hours.

They start from your business default. Change anybody who is different — part time, a late start on Mondays, a four-day week.

  3. 3

    Set their break.

No slot is offered across it.

  4. 4

Set where they set off from, if they go out.

Home, the yard, wherever they actually start. This is what the travel times are measured from, and a wrong base makes every slot suggestion wrong with it.

  5. 5

Add time off when somebody is away.

Holiday, training, anything. Nothing is offered or booked across it.

  6. 6

Add a bay or room, if you have one.

Only if you have a space that can hold one job at a time — a ramp, a bay, a chair, a treatment room. Most businesses have none and can ignore this entirely; nothing changes until you add one.

Worth knowing

A bay is counted separately from a person

Your setting for one person being on two jobs at once does not apply to a bay, and deliberately. A workshop may well want one mechanic across four machines — that is a judgement about how you work. Two cars cannot share a ramp under any setting, so you are told either way. It is still a warning, not a block: you can see that the first car is coming off at eleven and the software cannot.

Switched off, never deleted

Retiring a bay keeps it on the record of the work that was done in it. Add the same name back and it is simply put back in use rather than becoming a second one.

Office staff appear here once you take calls

If you have turned on telephone or online appointments, anyone who can be given one needs hours here too — otherwise there is nothing for a customer to book into. A business that does neither sees only the people who go out, exactly as before.
