Change a sign-in email, or remove someone who has leftNew
Correct the address a member of staff signs in with, resend their set-up link, and take a leaver off the team without losing anything they did.

What is said in this recording
Two things that come up once a team is running. Somebody's email was typed wrong, or has changed, and they cannot get in. And somebody leaves — at which point they should lose their login the same day, but the record of what they did has to stay exactly as it was.
Step by step
- 1
Go to Settings, then Team.
- 2
To change an email, press the @ button on their row.
This is the address they sign in with, and where a password reset is sent. Type the right one and press Save.
- 3
Tick “Send a set-up link to this address” if they have never signed in.
It is ticked for you when their row says “Not set up”. The link lasts 14 days and replaces any sent before, so one that went to the wrong inbox stops working.
- 4
To remove someone who has left, press the bin on their row.
You are told first how many open jobs, enquiries and quotes are in their name. Those go back to unassigned so you can give them to somebody else.
- 5
Press Remove from team.
Their login stops working straight away and they come off your team list.
- 6
Give their open work to somebody else.
The dashboard shows how many jobs need someone, and the jobs list shows them as Unassigned.
Worth knowing
Nothing they did is removed
Their name stays on the Activity log, and on every job, quote and invoice they worked on. Finished jobs stay in their name. Only work still to be done is handed back.
Removing cannot be undone
If somebody is only away for a while — long leave, a seasonal worker — use Deactivate instead, which switches their login off and back on again. To bring back someone you removed, add them again as a new member of staff; their old history stays under their name.
When a link was not sent
If the mail server refuses an email, you are told on screen straight away, and the Activity log records it as NOT DELIVERED with the reason. Nothing to do with a junk folder — the message never left.
Three things the page will not let you do
Remove yourself. Remove the only owner with a working login. And change the sign-in email of someone who uses the same login for another business on TaskMyJob — that one is for TaskMyJob support, because the address is not only yours to change. Your own sign-in email is also changed through support.
The old address is told
When you change the email of someone who has already been signing in, a short note goes to the old address saying it has changed and who changed it. Someone who never got in is not sent one — the old address was the mistake.
