What is said in this recording

Sometimes an itemised quote invites an argument about one line rather than a decision about the job. You can send the work without the sums: the customer still sees everything you will do, and the total they pay.

Step by step

  1. 1

Build the quote as normal, with every line priced.

  2. 2

Tick “Hide line item totals from the customer” above the lines.

  3. 3

    Check the customer's copy.

They see each line's description and the subtotal, VAT and total. They do not see the quantity, the unit price or the per-line total.

  4. 4

    Send it as usual.

Your own copy, the reports and the invoice all keep the full detail.

Worth knowing

It hides the sums, not the work

Every line is still listed, so the customer can see exactly what is included. This is not a way of being vague about scope — it is a way of quoting a job rather than a shopping list.
