Electricians
Software for electricians
What is different about this trade
A certificate that can be edited after signing is worth nothing, and a certificate you cannot reissue is almost as bad. So forms are versioned — you can see which wording was in use on the day — and an amendment after signing needs a manager to authorise it, which means the person who signed it is not the person who can quietly change it.
How it handles your day
Your own forms, not a fixed set
Signed standing at the board
The five-year reminder that is not a booking
A board that fails mid-job
Subcontract work, with the tax done properly
Questions, answered
Can I issue EICRs and minor works certificates?
You build the forms yourself, so yes — the fields, the sections and the wording are yours. They are versioned, signed on site and kept against the job for as long as you need them.
Who can change a certificate after it has been signed?
Only somebody with authority to, and it is recorded as an amendment rather than an edit. The original is not overwritten.
Will it chase the next periodic inspection?
It puts the customer on a call list ahead of the date. It will not book the visit itself, because a five-year inspection is work that has to be agreed and priced again, and a diary filling itself with unsold work is worse than a missed reminder.
I subcontract to a main contractor. Does it handle CIS?
Yes. The deduction is on labour only, on the net, and the total does not move. Materials have to be at cost — inflating them shrinks the labour the deduction comes off and HMRC pursues the subcontractor, so it warns.
Can two electricians be on one job?
Yes — one visit with two people on it. Both show busy in their own diaries, which is the whole point: recording a second person without counting them busy would be worse than not having it.
How much is it?
£29.99 a month for the whole business — every feature, every person, no add-ons. 60 days free and no card to start.
Before you start
When you sign up you are asked what the business does. Pick Electrical — the app uses it to decide what to show you, so the screens arrive already suited to the work rather than needing switching off one at a time.
The arithmetic behind this is free to use without an account — try the CIS calculator, which runs the same code the invoices do.
See it being done
Step-by-step guides with a short recording of each one, free to read without an account.
Build and use your own certificates
Completion certificates and compliance forms your engineers fill in and sign off on site.
Subcontract work and CIS
What a contractor withholds from your invoice, why it is not a debt, and how to set it up.
Extra work, from finding it to being paid for it
Pricing work nobody quoted for, showing the customer why, and getting it onto the bill with their yes in writing.
Also worth a look
Most businesses on this list do more than one of these. It is the same product and the same price either way.
Plumbers and heating engineers
Today's leak and next November's service are two different problems. One goes in the diary; the other has to be sold again. Both are handled here.
Builders and main contractors
Months, stages, subcontractors and retention — with money held back recorded properly so it never reads as an overdue invoice.
Try it on your own work
60 days free with everything switched on, and no card to start. If you would rather ask something first, there is a person on the other end.
