Who it suits
Hair salons and barbers, nail and beauty studios, aesthetics clinics, massage and sports therapy, physiotherapy and osteopathy, chiropody, tattoo and piercing studios, mobile hairdressers and therapists, personal trainers and dog groomers. Anywhere the booking is the product.
What it is not
TaskMyJob is not a clinical records system. It does not hold patient records or clinical notes and it is not regulated as clinical software. It handles the bookings, the rooms and chairs, the deposits, the reminders and the money coming in. Anything clinical stays in whatever you keep it in today.
Questions, answered
Can customers book themselves in?
Yes, and they are only offered times you can actually do — inside your working hours, with the treatment's own length allowed for, and with a deposit taken as they book so the slot is genuinely held.
Can I book by chair or treatment room rather than by person?
Yes, and it is a separate question from who is working. Four therapists and three rooms is three appointments at once, and a booking that needs a room you have not got is flagged whatever anybody's diary looks like.
What can I do about no-shows?
Two things, and they work together. A deposit at the point of booking means the slot costs something to waste. And the customer is emailed the evening before — or on the Friday for a weekend booking — so you find out they cannot make it while there is still time to fill the hour.
Can I charge a regular's card automatically?
Yes, with their agreement and in writing. A standing authority is agreed once, the charge goes as the invoice goes out, and a payment that fails tells somebody rather than failing quietly.
Do you handle repeat appointments?
Yes. Work that genuinely repeats on a cycle books the next one automatically, with the same person at the agreed price. Treatments that have to be sold again each time instead go on a call list before they fall due, which is a different thing and deliberately kept separate.
What about mobile treatments?
The same diary, with travel between appointments worked out, so two bookings across town are flagged before either is promised. An appointment at your own premises, at the client's, by phone or online are all ordinary cases.
Is this a clinical records system?
No, and it is worth being plain. TaskMyJob does not hold patient records or clinical notes and is not a regulated clinical system. It handles the bookings, the chairs and rooms, the deposits, the reminders and the money. Anything clinical stays where it belongs.
