What is said in this recording

An enquiry is somebody who has asked about work but has not been quoted yet. Logging it means the job is somewhere other than a notepad, and when you do quote it the customer's details come across with it.

Step by step

  1. 1

Go to Enquiries and press Add.

  2. 2

Pick an existing customer, or add a new one as you go.

You do not have to create the customer first — the name, phone and address can be typed here and the record is created with the enquiry.

  3. 3

Write what they want in plain words.

This becomes the starting title of the quote and, later, of the job, so write it the way you would say it: “boiler making a noise”, “full house clean before letting”.

  4. 4

Note how they found you, if you track it.

This is what the reports use to tell you which sources are worth the money.

  5. 5

Save it, and it sits on the Enquiries list until you act on it.

  6. 6

When you are ready to price it, open it and press to raise a quote.

The customer, the address and the description come across, so you start on the money rather than the admin.

Worth knowing

An enquiry that goes nowhere is still worth logging

Declined and dead enquiries are what the Revenue Radar works from. If they never existed in the app, nothing can suggest going back to them in three months.
