This notice explains the cookies TaskMyJob sets and what each one does. It sits alongside our Privacy Notice.
We set strictly necessary cookies only. There is no analytics, no advertising and no third-party tracking on the platform, which is why you are not asked to accept cookies when you arrive.
A cookie is a small text file that a website asks your browser to store. On a return visit the browser sends it back, which is how a site can tell that it is still the same session. Similar technologies, such as the storage built into your browser, work the same way.
All of the cookies below are strictly necessary. Each one is set by TaskMyJob on our own domain, and each is marked HttpOnly, meaning it cannot be read by scripts running in the page.
| Cookie | What it does | How long it lasts |
|---|---|---|
| authjs.session-token (__Secure-authjs.session-token) | Keeps you signed in and identifies your session. Without it you would have to sign in again on every page. | 30 days, or until you sign out |
| authjs.csrf-token (__Host-authjs.csrf-token) | Protects sign-in and form submissions against cross-site request forgery, so another site cannot act on your behalf. | When you close the browser |
| authjs.callback-url (__Secure-authjs.callback-url) | Remembers the page you were heading to, so you land there after signing in. | When you close the browser |
| tmj_act_as | Set only when a member of TaskMyJob support is assisting a business and is viewing that business's account. Every such session is recorded in the business's audit trail. | Until support ends the session |
Cookie names gain a __Secure- or __Host- prefix when the site is served over HTTPS, which is why two forms are shown.
UK law requires consent for cookies that are not essential to providing a service you have asked for. Every cookie listed above is essential: without them you could not sign in, stay signed in, or be protected against cross-site request forgery. Consent is therefore not required, and we do not show a banner.
If we ever add analytics, advertising or other non-essential cookies, we will ask for your consent first and update this notice before doing so.
In addition to the cookies above, the platform uses your browser's session storage to remember that you have dismissed an in-app reminder, so the same prompt does not reappear on every page during a visit. It holds no personal data and is cleared when you close the tab.
We do not embed advertising networks, social media widgets or analytics scripts, so no third party sets cookies through our pages in normal use.
The one exception is the payment page. Card details are entered into fields served directly by our payment provider so that card numbers never reach our systems. That provider may set its own storage on those pages for security and fraud prevention, governed by its own terms rather than ours.
You can block or delete cookies through your browser settings, and every major browser explains how in its help pages. Two things are worth knowing before you do:
We may update this notice as the platform changes. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
